Grammy Award Winning Mix Engineer Gustavo Celis was nominated for a TEC Award for his Mix of Shakira’s Oral Fixation Tour DVD and Blu-ray disc. The recording was done by Celis at the Miami Airlines Arena and latter mixed in stereo and 5.1 surround at his own Elastic Mix Studios.

            “This is a great honor. I mean, to be nominated by my peers while doing

            what I love the most. I am very excited about this particular project because       

            it marks my entry into the 5.1 surround mixing arena. I enjoy mixing in 5.1

            and hope this brings more surround projects to my plate.”

This is the second TEC Award nomination for Celis, he was nominated in 2006 for his mix of Shakira’s “La Tortura.” The TEC Awards are presented annually by the Mix Foundation for Excellence in Audio to honor individuals, companies and technical innovations behind the sound recordings, films, TV shows and live performances.
